Northernland Construction, one of the successful companies of the Cyprus construction sector, makes an assertive entrance to Kyrenia. The company will build a luxury villa project in Alsancak, Girne. Northernland Construction General Manager Taruz Güçlüer explained the details to the Kıbrıs Emlak Merkezi.

The year 2020 passed with the pandemic crisis all over the world.
In most companies, things have come to a halt. However, during this period digital marketing, companies that invested inwon and continue to win.
One of our corporate member companies, Northernland Construction, is one of those companies. It has allocated high budgets for digital promotion in 2020 and its investments will continue without slowing down in 2021.
We talked with the General Manager of the company Taruz Güçlüer, about 2020 and 2021. He talked about the pandemic process and how they turned this crisis into a positive. It also gave the good news of new projects that will change the balances in the construction sector.
How is NorthernLAND Construction going through the pandemic process?
Of course, the pandemic affected us as well as the whole world. We primarily revised our short and medium term targets in order to continue our activities under these conditions. On the other hand, as a country, we are at an advantageous point in the number of cases compared to other countries. We think we need to use this situation in our favor. In this direction, we have carried out a policy that gives more importance to production, investment and international marketing.
Instead of starting to defend our country from the moment the pandemic started to affect our country, instead of trying to find the balance by constricting, downsizing and saving resources and processes, we have made reforms in our marketing department, but mainly in our digital marketing activities. Accordingly, we have significantly increased our budget for digital marketing. We concentrated on digital marketing and online sales. We have collected the fruits of these efforts and continue to do so.
We stayed in quarantine from the middle of March to May with the decision of our government. As soon as this period is over, we started to work at full capacity in the construction sites of all our ongoing projects. In doing so, our main goal is to contribute to our colleagues, business partners, all sectors in our economic sphere of influence, to support the market, and to keep our promises to our customers at all costs.
In which projects are the sales going and how is the latest situation?
Sales continue in our Grand Sapphire Resort & Residences project.
As you know, it is the biggest project of the island, consisting of 1600 residences and including a 5 star hotel. Grand Sapphire Resort & Residences continues to attract attention despite the pandemic.
In addition, we launched a 47-residence luxury villa project in the Yeni Boğaziçi area. We met with great interest in the project we named Emerald Villas. We sold almost half of the project in as little as a month, with bookmaking and launch.
In addition, we are about to launch another luxury villa project in the Kyrenia Alsancak region. We built these two villa projects to meet the increasing demand for villa type housing due to the pandemic. We are satisfied with the results for now.
In addition, we are at the stage of delivering nearly four hundred commercial and residential units to our customers with the NorthernLAND Premier project, the NorthernPark project, which is actually the only real residence on the island.
Are there any campaigns you are continuing and planning in current projects?
The marketing department is very dynamic, there is always a campaign. Now, campaigns for the nearest new year are about to begin. Let our customers continue to follow us on digital platforms.
What is in your investment roadmap for 2021?
We started some of the investments we planned for 2021. In 2021, our studies and investments will continue in Famagusta city center, İskele Long Beach region and Kyrenia.
You have pioneered the industry or even the country in online sales, what are you doing in this process?
Every challenge is an opportunity from our perspective. During the pandemic process, as I mentioned before, we made reforms in the marketing department. In fact, we started a radical transformation not only in marketing but also in order to move our company to digital platforms. Selling online is a bit more difficult and based on trust. Despite this, NorthernLAND references, previous achievements and the importance it attaches to customer satisfaction, as well as the digitalization of marketing and sales processes have helped us to convince customers on the online platform.
During the pandemic process, we saw that the demand for transition from flat to villa is increasing, will you have new projects specific to your villa?
Actually, it is not exactly like that. Although the Grand Sapphire Resort and Residences project is in essence an apartment project, the demand for the project has not decreased, despite the pandemic, we are satisfied with the demand. However, as I mentioned above, our two new villa projects, Emerald Villas and NorthernLAND Alsancak Villas, are on sale. While doing these projects, of course, we have taken into account the pandemic conditions in the domestic market.
Emerald Villas, which we put up for sale in the New Bogazici region, are capable of responding to the changing conditions you have mentioned with NorthernLAND quality. It combines high quality standards and living spaces that people need in this period in the most effective way. We are also excited for our project that will start in Alsancak, Girne with the same perspective. As I mentioned, our goal is to turn these difficult conditions into opportunities.
What is your message to the investor and the industry?
It is certain that it has been through a difficult period. However, considering the developments in the world and the situation of Northern Cyprus, this is a paradise.
Northern Cyprus has serious advantages in terms of the stability of property prices and the natural beauty of the country. These advantages have become more meaningful with the management success in the pandemic period. Therefore, interest in real estate in Northern Cyprus has increased even more.
The industry has managed to combine quality and price policy with strong architectural structures. There is a demand for the island from many countries of the world. More peaceful and safer geographies that the pandemic has taught humanity. In this sense, the real estate market of our country will also get its share from this trust environment. The current interest is an indicator of this.
Due to the location of the country, it offers serious opportunities for investors. Considering the world real estate prices, it is not possible to find both peace and natural beauties at such affordable prices. This advantage will be the roadmap of the new era.
